Happy Anniversary, Night of the Living Dead

On the fiftieth anniversary, some old drawings I made from Night of the Living Dead, which still freaks me out a little when I see it late at night. Maybe I'll make some new ones for the big five oh for this year's countdown.

Countdown to Halloween, 2018

It's not Fall Harvest, but it's still fun and sexy. Once again, the reason for this blog is happening, and it's Countdown to Halloween. An excuse for me to make and post some stuff that makes me feel like a kid again. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have fun exploring all the cool and spooky sites that participate....

Process

This is a cell phone photo taken from a computer screen of a scan of a polaroid taken from a VHS tape playing on a TV. The movie is Svengali (1931) with Marian Marsh and John Barrymore. I like what happens to the information as the image moves from medium to medium.

Horrors from Screen to Scream by Ed Naha

This was a favorite book as a kid. Full of great black and white photos, and smart assessments of movies, actors, directors, and all other kinds of movie-magic makers. I read it and re-read it and am thrilled to still have it on my studio bookshelf.

The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh

The cover is the best part of this comic, with the work inside solid but not special.

The back cover is the cover art without the title and text and other extras. A cool little illustration.
